About

Alterna Comics was created by company president, Peter Simeti, on January 4th, 2007. They are a creator-owned graphic novel company that lets creators keep 100% ownership of their work. The works aren't traditional superhero stories, but are instead more geared towards a cinematic and literary/visual style of science fiction, horror, fantasy, and other genres. Publisher Peter Simeti states that a lot of Alterna's line-up can simply be described as "comics for people who never knew they would enjoy reading comics." Creators are able to pursue merchandising and licensing using their comic creations and are able to have full control over their intellectual properties. Alterna Comics currently has 5 titles slated for national distribution in comic shops and bookstores, with many more on the way. These titles are 'BIRTH' a tale of a war-torn alien planet, 'JESUS HATES ZOMBIES' a tongue-in-cheek humor series that depicts Jesus Christ as Earth's savior from a zombie apocalypse, 'MORBID MYTHS VOL.1 THE COLLECTION' features horror and suspense stories in an anthology format, 'FORMERA VOL.1' is a manga series that tells the story of Darian as he wakes up on the mysterious planet of Formera, and 'AMERICAN TERROR: CONFESSIONS OF A HUMAN SMART BOMB VOL.1' which revolves around a main character that was part of a special military unit that fought to secure a utopian future. Titles slated for future distribution are: 'The Chair', 'Diary of the Black Widow', 'Risers', 'Ruin', 'Novo', 'AlternaTales Anthology', 'Shelter', and 'The Incredible True Story of Susie and Ishmael'.
