Saying Goodbye to Literate Machine

You all may have noticed activity on Literate Machine has been pretty low for a while now. This is because of two major events: 1) The party providing the financial backing for the site has gone out of business, 2) The remaining founders of the site were hired away by far more successful competitors — comiXology.

For its brief life, Literate Machine was a wonderful thing, and we made contacts with a lot of really great creators and helped them get their work out there. We're proud of what we accomplished and sad we couldn't accomplish more.

For now we're leaving up all the free downloads, but because our SSL cert has expired, items will no longer be available for purchase. However, at some point in the future we will be purging the site content, so please do make sure you have any work on the site backed up on your own computers, and if you want to download something on the site, do so now!
